The danish singer Karen Marie Ørsted (born 1989) known as "MØ", is a solo artist and became very popular in March 2013 after she was P3s (a danish radio channel) Unavoidable in week 12.
Her music background is a history of girl punk duo named "Mor". Several foreign and recognized music media, including Pitchfork likes her for her ability to blend soul inspired-pop, electronic and R&B.

Haim who?
The American band "Haim" a band formed of three sisters Este Haim, Danielle Haim and Alana Haim. Their sound has been described as;
"Nu-Folk-Meets-Nineties-R&B" And "Music that sounds like it was written on a lakeside retreat attended by either Stevie Nicks, John Waite or En Vogue."
They aren't so well known in Europe yet but are very well known in The States and are nominated to MTV Music Awards in the category "Brand New for 2013" and won the BBC "Sound of the year."

"Take a picture of a picture from the past in the present". This is how the photographer Taylor Jones describes his blog Dear Photograph. People send in old family photos and Dear Photographer lines them up (in the present) in their original setting.
The original Blythe doll was manufactured by Kenner in 1972. It was only produced for one year. Production was stopped because of poor sales. She must have been ahead of her time, cause in 2000 she made a comeback beginning in Japan after being a collectors item for many years. I love her every look.

Lady Lützen & Jarno Varsted aka. electro blues band Straight From The Harp are the first band in the world to use only drummachine, blues harp & vocals to get their electronic blues thunder rolling.
Their songs are heart breaking and their looks are breath taking.
The danish band currently living in Berlin released their debut album Rain Rain Down Down along a remix album Re Re Mix Mix featuring who's who of the Danish underground scene in 2010 and is now working on their second album.
They have just been on a DK tour with Danish singer Kira Skov and her band The Ghost Riders.

Brooklyn based Indie band Grizzly Bear not only creates amazing music, but also insists on the music being accompanied by artistic videos.
On their latest album Veckatimest, Christopher Bear, Ed Droste, Daniel Rossen and Chris Taylor are all vocalists and the album is the outcome of a close collaboration between the members of the band. The result is a unique, poetic and unified sound.

CCBC is an international dance ensemble of experienced professional dancers and choreographers, founded in 2007 by Constantine Baecher and Cedric Lambrette, both dancers at the Royal Danish Ballet. Doga - or Dog Yoga - is the new excercise form in New York. Bring your pup to yoga class, and you can both do the Downward-facing Dog posture.
Doga is a combination of massage and meditation with gentle stretching for dogs and their human partners. For example in a “resting poseâ€, the owner reclines, with legs slightly bent over the dog’s torso to relieve pressure on the spine. This is supposed to make the dog and it’s human partner closer and more connected.

Lovely young girls to get your mood up on a day of snow - at least here in Copenhagen. Fortunately the snow stopped again and the sun might be breaking, but nevertheless it's a nice song and a cute, very low-tech video.
The girls are twin sisters, and their EP will come out in May.
Almost a year ago we posted the Magazine cover illusions. Now we have the follow-up; Album cover Illusions.
These are kind of an internet phenomenon - not new, but growing more and more impressive. Some people really put an effort into making the pictures believable, and we appreciate it a lot.
Location 1: Moscow, 2008, Red Square, a setting that embodies state power and its ceremonial presence like no other - we need only think of the display of muscle at the military parades.
Location 2: Turkey, Antalya - the Kremlin Palace Hotel, a double of the Moscow original completed in 2003 - but as a resort: sun, sea and plenty of bare skin.
70% of the guests are tourists from Russia or the former republics of the USSR.
Oh well, it's some years ago, but singing in the video is Edward Anatolevich Hill, a Soviet-era vocalist once celebrated as the 'Honored Artist of the USSR' in 1968 and 'People’s Artist of the USSR' in 1974.
In 1917 two cousins, Elsie Wright, 16, and Frances Griffiths, 10, came to public attention in the UK. They claimed, and presented over time, five photographs that appeared to show them in the company of fairies.
Some believed the pictures to be authentic, and even Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle came to be a firm believer in them. For much of their lives the girls maintained that they were genuine, before finally admitting in an interview in 1981, that they had been faked using cardboard cut outs stuck on hatpins. Elsie Wright though continued to maintain until her death in 1986 that they had seen fairies in their garden and that the fifth and final picture, in which neither girl is present, was genuine.
Meet the real life invisible man - Liu Bolin, 36-year-old artist, has the ability to disappear. Inspired by how some animals blend themselves into the surroundings for self-protection, Bolin creates these amazing camouflage artworks. He paints himself to merge with the surroundings, and he is so apt at it that at times passers-by don't even realize he is there until he moves. He takes up to 10 hours at a time for a single photo to get the perfect outcome. For Liu Bolin no surrounding is too difficult to blend into.
Inspiration for a sunday of fun in the kitchen... Lady Gaga does not have to be the motif, you can use your own favorite artist - Elton John, David Bowie, or Michael Jackson could all make some great looking - and tasting - cookies!
Dead Man's Bones is a band with actor Ryan Gosling and his friend Zach Shields. Their first album was released in October, 2009 and features a collaboration with L.A.'s Silverlake Conservatory Childrens Choir.
Though the guys claim they're musical newbies (Gosling's singing alongside Britney Spears on The New Mickey Mouse Club notwithstanding), they played almost all of the instruments on their self-titled debut. Gosling even taught himself the cello for the eerie waltz "Buried in Water" after the two cello players they had enlisted turned out to be frauds. "They came in and we pressed record and they had never touched a cello before in their life," says Gosling.

"Pink was once a color associated with masculinity, considered to be a watered down red and held the power associated with that color. In 1914, The Sunday Sentinel, an American newspaper, advised mothers to “use pink for the boy and blue for the girl, if you are a follower of convention.†The change to pink for girls and blue for boys happened in America and elsewhere only after World War II. As modern society entered twentieth century political correctness, the concept of gender equality emerged and, as a result, reversed the perspective on the colors associated with each gender as well as the superficial connections that attached to them."

We got to know this lovely woman at the Nouvelle Vague concert - she is touring with them right now! She is crazy on stage - a wonderful performer and singer. But besides Nouvelle Vague she has a lot of other projects going on...
She is the front woman and co-founding member of UK alternative cult rockers, The LoveGods, and is currently developing her own first solo project - Venus Gets Even. We can't wait to follow her!

AJ Fosik is a Philadelphia based artist, who does 3-dimensional works in wood. His colourful creatures seem very lifelike, and it's like walking into the home of a fairytale hunter, when you visit a gallery exhibiting his work.
The Hua Mei Bird Garden in Sara Delano Roosevelt Park is not a usual destination for neither tourists or New Yorkers. It is situated in Chinatown, and Bird gardens are common in China. Every morning, a group of Chinese men gather with their songbirds, finches, sparrows and blue jays among them. But the main reason for this garden even existing is the Hua Mei birds.
The Hua Mei is a fighting song bird - in the company of other males it fights, and for females it sings. The birds are kept in ornamented handmade bamboo cages, frequently with a white cloth covering the cage to shield them from the impact of the city. The gathering is a social one for both the owners and the birds. The Hua Mei needs exercise and the owners take the opportunity to introduce the birds to each other while talking bird talk...

This is a guy called Scott Weaver. He started gluing toothpicks together around 34 years ago and started rolling ping pong balls around the results. Eventually, that would become this toothpick sculpture of San Francisco that he has spent about 3,000 hours (about 375 work days) creating in his living room. Wow!

The album Some People Have Real Problems is more than a year old, but was only recently released in several European contryes, like Denmark.
She is best known for her song Breathe Me, which has appeared in several commercials from eg. Coca Cola and Danske Bank, and it was used to end the very last episode of the series Six Feet Under. It is a very strong song, and brings immediate associations if you have heard it berfore. Imagine being at a concert, this song comes on, and the first thing you think of is this bank, watch or whatever... That was definitely not the intention.

Now that summer is coming, and the weather has been so beautiful for a while now, we are not really needing our umbrellas (let's hope it lasts...). Here are some ideas for finding other use for your umbrellas. These are all art installations by different artists.
Shinichi Maruyama is a Japanese photographer and artist, who lives in New York since 2003. Among a lot of other things, he has done a series of amazing high speed shots of water in the air. The series is named Kusho.
When you see the photos, they could as well be tiny drops of water, but this picture shows the scale of his work... Looks kind of messy, but fun! Some finished artworks below.
Swedish singer, just released a new album - 'Hardships'. Her voice and style have references to Kate Bush, but she is also electro influenced. And she is so adorably stylish! You might have heard her on The Knife's 'Deep Cuts' album, where she was a guest vocalist.
She is touring this spring/summer - eg. in John Dee, Oslo on April 15th, and in Vega, Copenhagen on April 16th.
Norwegian designer Bjoerg does this lovely fairytale-like jewellery, with associations to old playing cards and Alice in Wonderland. The pieces have a rare yet familiar feel – like discovering in your Grandma’s attic a rare gem that has a contemporary twist.

Fruit extravagant
Amazing art, that must require quite a lot of self control and patience... This is a watermelon transformed into a beautiful flower. Would you have the heart to eat this thing?
There are a lot of things out there, that you never see, even if you are right in front of them! Take these artworks for example. Very easy to miss, but if you do notice them they can make your day, don't you think? They are all found in the streets of London somewhere...
Magical and picturesque short film from 1956, about a boy who makes friends with a red balloon, filmed in the Belleville ares of Paris. There is almost no dialog spoken in the film, and with its Oscar win for Best Original Screenplay, the film is the only short film to win to win an Academy Award outside of the
short film categories.

Rat's paradise
Imagine being a rat - if you live in for example Copenhagen, Amsterdam, or New York, everybody hates you! But if you could just move to this place...
Located in north-western India, the small city of Deshnoke,has a place
of worship unlike any other, Rajastan’s famous Karni Mata Temple. The
temple is home to over 20,000 worshipped rats, referred to as 'Kappas'. Many people travel great distances to pay their respects.
...Is the name of the exhibition of Dutch model Iekeliene Stange’s most personal photographic works, at projecktGALERIE in Berlin. Nice lamps on opening night, and cute ponies having yummy looking cupcakes.. and beautiful photos too!

Cute towels
If you’ve been on a cruice ship, you might have
experienced this… The service personnel fold these animals and leave
them for you after the daily cleaning of the room. If you leave your
sunglasses in the room, you are very likely to find the animal wearing
them when you return. They are really cute, I wouldn’t want to unwrap
them!

Midnight Sun
In these times of darkness, I can't help but long for some sun and warmth. I would love to experience the midnight sun
sometime! The light is just amazing when the sun is low on the sky -
warm and soft, creating long shadows, and a sky full of wonderful
colours - and that ‘moment’ lasts for hours,
as the sun never sets, it simply moves slightly above the horizon until
it starts rising again!
It occurs north of the Arctic circle, and south
of the Antarctic circle, during their local summers. In Svalbard,
Norway, the northernmost inhabited region of Europe, there is no sunset
from approximately April 19th to August 23rd.
At the north and south poles, the sun only rises once and sets once each year.
This is a time lapse video, 11.15 pm till 2.45 am.
I just love the atmosphere in
it! It is visually hypnotic, funny, and also very emotionally intense.
The techniques employed to achieve the effects in the film are
amazingly simple, stop-motion, and they suit the movie and the
dream-feeling very well.
This is one of the many beautiful dream sequences throughout the movie;
An exciting diving site, that was visited and filmed
by Jacques Costeau in the early 1980’s! It houses the skeletal remains
of turtles and dolphins.
Ooh, I love stories like this, as you will never
really know for sure if it is for real… But the stories tell, that the
old turtles swim into this specific cave during their final days to die
in peace! It looks amazing, and at the same time a bit creepy, with all
these turtle skeletons lying around.
1984. The voice of an angel,
Elizabeth Fraser, will be part of musical history with all its raw
instinctual content, simply beautiful!
The first video is the original video. The second one is by some guy made his own video for
the song - he really catched the dreamy 80's feeling in it, I think.
Remember those posters with beaches, sunsets, palm trees, and couples
holding hands in dark silhouette? The second video reminds me of those!

you will know what to do, but i just stumpled upon it… so I thought, is
this site not working? Then I dragged the mouse over the screen, and
suddenly some black dots and lines came to sight… it took me a bit to
realize, that I was causing them myself!

The Melbourne Cup (also called The race that stops a nation) is Australia’s major annual horse race, part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, that lasts for 50 days. The cup is held on the first Tuesday in November, and every year around 100.000 people or more, come to watch it.
Stella has always been fond of horses, so off course she was there last week! This is a great chance to view some of the most beautiful horses in the
world... So elegant, proud, clever and strong animals, with a mind of
their own.
But even if you’re not that into horses,
racing, or gambling, there are lots of other things to look at… for
fashion lovers for example, as the women in the audience wear the most
amazing hats! (It’s always nice to’ WOW’ and ‘YUCK’ at other people’s
fashion choices). There are prizes for the best-dressed race-goers… I
wonder if these ones scored high or low!? (Yes, that’s a bird in a
cage… on her head!)
This
is the main course of Babette’s Feast (The story by Karen Blixen and
movie of the same name). It is an over the top masterpiece. One of the finest of the
finest of classical French dishes served only in Paris’s finest
restaurants. Tender, gamey quail stuffed with foie gras and encased in
a puff pastry shell, swimming in a pool of black truffles hand-picked
in the Perigord region of France. Rare bottles of “Clos de Vougeot†are
poured into crystal goblets.
Recipe for four:
1 pound frozen puff pastry, defrosted 20 minutes at room temperature 4 quails, boned 1 1/4 teaspoons salt Freshly ground white pepper to taste 12 ounces foie gras, 2/3 of which is cut across in 8 slices, the rest cut into 1/4-inch cubes 1 1-ounce black truffle, sliced as thinly as possible, at least 12 slices 1 tablespoon unsalted butter 1 cup white wine 1/2 cup chicken stock 1/2 cup demi-glace (see note) 16 black figs, quartered
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Cut 4 5-inch
rounds from the pastry. Make a 3-inch circle in the center of each
round, being careful not to cut to the bottom of the dough. Bake on a
parchment-lined baking sheet for 22 minutes, or until puffed and
golden. Carefully lift out the 3-inch round from the center to create a
nest with a top. Set aside to cool.
2. Raise the oven to 450 degrees. Season the
inside of the quails with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and a few grinds of
pepper. Lay 1 slice of foie gras in each quail cavity followed by 3
truffle slices and top with the remaining foie gras. Truss the quails.
Season the outsides with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and a few grinds of
pepper. Melt the butter in an oven proof skillet over high heat. Sear
the quails, 20 to 30 seconds per side. Place the pan in the oven and
roast for 10 minutes. Turn the quails and roast for 5 minutes more.
Remove and keep warm in a covered dish.
3. Place the skillet over high heat on top of the
stove. Pour in the wine and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned
bits on the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Simmer for 1 minute.
Pour in the stock and demi-glace and simmer for 3 minutes. Stir in the
figs and simmer for 1 minute. Stir in the 1/4-inch cubes of foie gras
and simmer, stirring for 1 to 2 minutes, until the sauce is reduced to
2/3 cup. Season with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and pepper to taste.
4. To serve, put each quail in a pastry nest. Drizzle with sauce, top with the pastry round and surround with the figs.
Ideally served with a red Burgundy wine such as Clos de Vougeot!
This wallpaper is cool! It is decorative, both blank, and after
being drawn on. It will change appearance forever. Great idea for the
bathroom or waiting room - wherever people feel bored! Just put a
bucket of different coloured pens in there too!
And last but definitely not least: it is a good excuse for you to draw on walls!
In Shanghai it is not uncommon to see people walking
the streets in pajamas, and not only in the morning. They wear them for
shopping, dogwalking, and I guess many other places too… Of course a
pajama is very comfortable, but could it become a fashion?
I love these pictures, because although the people look kind of
serious, the PJs totally out of context makes them funny and
surrealistic.
We had a great table right next to the piano woman, and sometimes
there was a singer on both sides of us, so it was surround sound in the
realest form! A bonus is, if you’re going there on a date, you won’t
have to keep up an awkward conversation for very long at a time,
because you can just sit there and listen (c;
PS: Try the tiramisu for dessert – and make your experience heavenly!
This is not photoshop! Arborsculpture is the art of shaping the
trunks and branches of live trees. You must be very patient to do this
kind of art, as it takes several years for each item to finish.
It looks amazing, and I am fascinated by the fact that there are
people out there, who dedicate themselves to this! Imagine a garden
with live tree furniture, with leaves and everything! I like those
human figures too!
The creator of this stool has succeeded in making a business out of it,
and is now growing them all over his yard. It’s pretty cool I think!
First Danish movie ever to win an Oscar (In 1988)! About a French
chef who spends her entire lottery prize to prepare a final,
spectacular gourmet meal for the members of a tiny church and a general
who is visiting, in a small fishing village in 19th century Denmark.
Written by our beloved Karen Blixen. It is a very funny, warm, and
uplifting movie.
These are the courses that are served:

Warning: Do not watch "Babette's Feast" on an empty stomach. It
could be a dangerously expensive evening, as it may drive you out to
the nearest restaurant.
The movie is in Danish, but I could only find a good clip from it
dubbed in English. It is pretty long (ten minutes), but the first part
where they enter the dining room is a must-see!
I was sitting in the bus in my own thoughts, when I suddenly noticed
the very nice carvings in the back of the seat in front of me. Why
haven’t I ever noticed this before? Well, I don’t think they have this
in all Copenhagen buses, this one was an extra bus they replaced the
train with, while doing track work.
Did you ever think of the details in our everyday life, that we
don’t notice? I like to think about how someone put a lot of thought
into this, and how wonderful it is, that everything in public places is
not linear.
This just makes me happy! Lovely song and video by Nouvelle Vague, a French band, who do cover songs - mostly punk rock, post-punk, and New Wave songs, which they turn into this soft bossa nova-style.
This one was originally done by Lords of The New Church, in 1983.
Movie from 1986, starring David Bowie and a young Jennifer Connelly. This is an amazing movie, even today, and there are many cool and beautiful visual effects!
The plot revolves around a young girl - Sarah's quest to rescue her little brother from the Goblin King, while trapped in a world that is an enormous maze.
I love this scene with the changing directions, and David Bowie singing. It's so nice to discover amazing old stuff...
Your new friend, if you're lonely or just want some company! This website is about all kinds of stuffed animals that travel around
the world. The members mail them to each others, take pictures of the
animal’s adventures at their places and share them with each other.
There are hundreds of ‘voyagers’ in there, and members from everywhere
- USA, Europe, China, India, etc… It’s pretty funny to look at the
pictures and read the stories.
Amazing building by the way - It is in Jaipur, India.
In New York, Sunday is the day to spend in Central Park when the weather is good.
There is something going on everywhere, and a great mix of people in
the real New York spirit!
I stumpled upon a rollerskate disco, which made me feel like being
back in the 80’s! Disco queens and oldschool hiphoppers… Where else
will you find something like that?
Bonus info: I was only told this the day before I left, so I didn’t
have time to try it out, but apparently the trick for spotting
celebrities in Central Park (and propably anywhere else too), is to
look for the papparazies… If you see someone with a huge camera and
lens hiding behind some trees or in the bushes, look in the direction
his lens is pointing!
These lovely dogs, among many others, brightened up our day in
Krakow. The parade takes place every year, and thousands of
woofers turn up in fancy dress.
Fashion photographer Tim Walker is showing at The
Design Museum in London this summer. His pictures are a wonderful mix
of fashion and fairytale, with references to childhood and dressing up.
Nice use of color, and unique set design. He has contributed to
magazines as Vogue, W and Harper‘s Bazaar, and has shot advertising
campaigns for clients including Barneys, Comme des Garcons, Gap and
Yohji Yamamoto.
Tim Walker about this photo, which is the one he has
been asked the most about: “A lot of people get confused when they see
this image. They think it was done by computer, but we actually took
pigment powder, mixed it with talc to get the right ice-cream pastel
colours, and brushed it into the cats. We were worried about applying the powder, but they were so vain they loved it! I didn’t arrange them. This is just what the cats did.â€
As usual aunt Ali was in a really good mood, when we visited her for
late brunch on sunday. It was raining outside, but we were giggly, and
daydreaming about Hawaiian summer nights, so she gave us a special
treat - her very own blue ocean drink!

2 cl Light Rum

This year is the 25th anniversary of the film "Flashdance". To celebrate that, here is the film's Oscar-winning Best Song "What a Feeling". Love that song!
For those in need of a re-cap, the movie is about Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel-mill welder by day, and exotic dancer by night, who dreams of a career in ballet.
Controversy followed when it was revealed that many of the film's signature dance scenes were largely performed by Jennifer Beal's dance double Marine Jahan, but the film went on to dominate the summer box-office of 1983. I don't mind, it's still a cool movie, and why not do it like that when one is a good actor, and the other is a good dancer? I bet it wouldn't have been the same, if one of them had done both!
PostSecret is a blog, where the editor posts postcards that he receives from anonymous people, reveiling their deepest secrets! It’s fascinating to read, and you have to check it often, as the old posts get deleted when a new post comes up. So watch it!
Frost Factory is a coldstone ice cream bar. They have this frozen granite plate, on which they mix stuff in the ice cream on your request. You choose a flavor of ice cream, and then what you want to be blended into it. They have many different kinds of candy, fruit and nuts that can be mixed into the ice cream. In the picture above it's blueberry ice cream with M&M's. They make the icecream themselves, so it is always fresh - never older than a day, and they can make around 100 different tastes. Doesn't it just sound heavenly?
Examples of ice cream tastes:
Apple Pie, Papaya Sorbet, Chocolate with ginger, and many more, including classic Italian types as Stracciatella, Tiramisu, and Pistachio.
Stella's favourite is Vanilla with wine gum bears and liquorice - Yum!
There are two Frost Factories in Copenhagen, one on Nordre Frihavnsgade 2, Østerbro; the other on Skt Hans Torv 3, Nørrebro.
Singer/songwriter from a small town in Ireland. Former lead singer of Moloko.
Her image is this street-diva; fashionable, and at the same time very down-to-earth. In her music videos and promotion material she is often wearing the edgiest designer gear, fantastically avant-garde stuff, in everyday situations, that are often humoristic. I love that mix, and how she wears those outfits in a very relaxed way, as if they could as well be tracksuits, and I think that’s what makes her a style icon! She has also been seen wearing great designer outfits on stage.
She’s performing at the Lowlands Festival in Amsterdam, on the 15th of August.

There was a Salvatore Ferragamo exhibition at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art this spring. I loved these fantastic shoe installations, and now I want to own a pair in each colour!
This video by The Chemical Brothers is more than nine years old, but I'm still impressed by it's great visuals - a kind of popup book / kaleidoscope effect. At a first glance you might think it was done digitally, but there are actually seven look-alike dancers.
It is directed by Michel Gondry, whose work I admire, he does these wonderful analogue works in a very digital time.
It is pretty obvious that it's a late nineties thing - the hair, clothes, and gel candles (remember those?) reveal it at once, but I think the way it is done makes it so cool still!

Woody Allen (born Allen Stewart Königsberg on December 1, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York) is a three-time Academy Award-winning American film director, writer, actor, jazz musician, comedian, and playwright.
His large amount of work, and intellectual film style, mixed with satire and humor, have made him one of the most respected filmmakers. He writes and directs his movies and has also acted in the majority of them. He is heavily inspired by literature, philosophy, psychology, Judaism, European cinema and New York City, where he was born and has lived his entire life.
Woody Allen has always looked the same kind of goofy, with thick black glasses, a big nose, and uncontrollable hair, wearing tweed jackets or woolen sweaters and shirts - creating a unique image for himself on his looks alone! Also as a movie maker and actor, he has a certain image; he frequently plays a neurotic New Yorker who talks a lot, and a lot of his movies feature at least one character who is a writer, which is often Woody himself. Its amazing how he has kept this image during more than four decades (his career started in the mid-sixties), and how he has always seemed to fit in the times being.
The next work that willl be seen from him, is the staging of a production of Puccini's trio of one-act operas. The production is scheduled to open the 2008 - 2009 Opera season in Los Angeles. I have no idea what I'm doing, Allen said in a recent statement to the press, "but incompetence has never prevented me from plunging in with enthusiasm."
Ever tried making a shadow with your hands, that looked like a dog’s or
a rabbit’s head? Well, you can do a lot more than that…How about an
elephant, or a human face? Here’s a few so you can practice.
It takes a little practice, though, to get it as good as the guy in
this first video… it’s amazing how fluid his movements are, and how he can
bend those fingers and hands!
Also the second one is pretty cool… it’s from the Oscar Show, a group of
maybe ten dancers doing different movie-titles like Happy Feet and
James Bond.
This bar/restaurant in Copenhagen’s own Meatpacking District (Kødbyen) is located in an old slaughterhouse. The place is beautiful, the interior is a collage of works by different artists, and in the summertime they have outdoors serving of twistbread and other grill classics.
In the ladies room someone has finally decided to make it easier and more comfortable for the girls, who always go to the toilet in pairs… they simply put two toilets together! Isn’t that clever?

Our beloved. She is a photographer based in Copenhagen, doing jobs all over the world, like Milan, Paris, New York, but always holding on to her roots.
She works with feeling rather than technique - she uses intuition and prefers a minimum of equipment. Dreamy, feminine fashion photographies are her trademark, and she is excellent at conveying emotions and atmosphere, like it comes naturally to her. Which is why we love her so much, and what she does for us!
- I love when I'm allowed to create universes, and fahion photography gives me great opportunity to do that. I do not work for fashion - for me the product is secondary, in the way that I don't care if I photograph Prada or second hand, as long as the product is photogenic. It is about making the whole picture work. Like playing with Barbie or a doll house, I have always loved to decorate, draw, and organize.
- I move around with my camera and try not to settle too much on for example specific poses or light. One of my favourite pictures is one that I shot for Stella Nova, where the model accidentally sneezes. I just pressed the button at the right moment! It turned out a quite powerful and non-fashion-like picture, and luckily my client was brave enough to use it as their campaign image!

And on every page there are small popup books within the popup book! There are so many great details, you can look them through again and again, and always discover something new. I made these videos to try to show you how wonderful they are.

Cherry liqueur in a shot glass, dropped into a glass of Cava with ice.
This is one of Stella's favorite summer drinks - it both tastes good, and looks fantastic! She first tasted it in Barcelona ten years ago (she just happened to be there during Cava week), and she always remembers this, when she takes the first sip of a Cherry Sub.
The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.
A strong personality in a small woman, a charismatic, mysterious old Baroness - this is what I feel she was! I don't really know how old she is in this picture (she died in 1962, 77 years old), but what great style and confidence! She was once asked, what her advice to young girls and women would be, and she answered; "Practice your courage every day!"
A short introduction; she was a Danish author also known under her pen name Isak Dinesen. She is best known for Out of Africa, about her years of living in Kenya, and one of her stories, Babette's Feast, both of which have been made into movies.
Her life story is kind of rough. Her father hanged himself when she was nine, she was in a bad marriage with a man who cheated on her almost from day one. After their divorce she started a relationship with the love of her life, Denys Finch Hatton, but he died in a plane crash a few years later. It is a sad story, but I'm sure that's part of what made her who she was! I think the experience can be read in her face.
How about buying a fake cake (or why not many)! It is so much easier than making a real one, and you can use it again and again! I guess you must be pretty sure though, that your guests will turn down your offer (it would NEVER work with my friends), but you will get the credit for making that beautiful dessert!
It would also be cool to decorate a whole room in the house with cakes… like the bedroom for example. You would be granted sweet dreams every night!
There are actually several websites selling fake cakes and other desserts and foods, both ready- and custom-made. There must be a great market for this out there… These ones are from Leelees Creations.
Beautiful and calm song, sung by Paul McCartney. This song has been inspiration for our Fall/Winter 08 collection. Being both cheerful and gloomy at the same time, is one of the characteristics of this song, that makes it interesting.

She is Hungarian, born in Slovakia, and now lives in New York. She has done shows and campaigns for names such as Missoni and Alexander McQueen, and editorials for Vogue Paris and Italia, among many others.
The contrast of her dark hair, fair skin, and blue eyes is just beautiful, and she is such a sweet girl!

I think you're adorable. Sinds last year my clossed is full of Stella Nova. I love it! Thanks for making this very nice items. As Feist is saying; "that money can't buy you back the love that you once had'. But Stella in your close I can do anything! I feel like a woman and a child at the same time.
And it is realy funny that the songs you put on your website and use for inspiration were allready on my ipod. I'm glad that I found your wardrobe. Keep on doing it.

Tango in the streets
Besides Buenos Aires, Seinäjoki in Finland is one of the great tango capitals in the world! Tango is very popular in all of Finland, and every year they have a tango festival, where they select the tango king and queen of the year, and there are many different competitions in dancing and singing tango. Also, there is live music in the streets, and people dancing around – some more talented than others. It is very intriguing to look at! Music for public dancing is not restricted to tango; it includes all the dance rhythms popular in Finland (like polka, waltz, jenka), but tango content must, according to the rules, be at least 40%.
They are pretty unique, these tango-loving Finns… some couples wear matching clothes for this event. This year it is on july 9th-13th.
How much time do you spend doing your lunch package? I bet these people spend - some - more time! I like the combination of aesthetics and food, so I just had to post these, and I would love to have the experience of opening one of these every day! Some of them actually look very delicious - like this cow-meal for instance - plus it's cute, and has wonderful colours!
All the ingredients are edible - here the creator has used rice, cous cous, carrot, red bell pepper, yellow squash, egg white, and pea pods.
